🚀 We are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior back-end Rust Video Engineer to join their team in developing a groundbreaking decentralised framework for MuFi (Music Finance) & RiFi (Royalty Finance).
âś… Responsibilities:
- Design and develop robust Rust microservices that integrate with the Mux.com platform (Live Streams, Assets, Playback, Webhooks).
- Implement secure RESTful API endpoints for ticketed video events and session
authentication/authorization - Handle webhooks from Mux and update internal states accordingly (e.g., stream started/ended, recording completed)
- Collaborate with front-end teams to expose real-time stream data and analytics to the UI
- Maintain database interactions using PostgreSQL and/or TimeScaleDB for video session metadata, user engagement data, and performance analytics.
- Ensure comprehensive video lifecycle handling (e.g., stream creation, monitoring, completion, archiving)
- Implement secure management of Mux tokens, secrets, and media assets.
- Contribute to system scalability and performance optimizations (e.g., caching strategies, rate-limiting, connection pooling, retry mechanisms)
- Work with DevOps and the back-end team to ensure robust monitoring and observability of streaming services
- Stay informed on video streaming best practices and contribute to architectural decisions

- 3–5+ years of professional experience in back-end development
- Strong proficiency in Rust (Rust Web Frameworks: Axum, Actix-web, Tokio), particularly for building web services and APIs
- Experience with Mux.com API (Live Streaming, Asset Management, Webhooks, Real-time Monitoring) or similar video streaming platforms (e.g., Twilio Video, Agora, Amazon IVS)
- Hands-on experience working with RESTful APIs, JSON, and webhook implementation
- Demonstrated expertise in auth token management, secure HTTP request handling (HTTP Clients: Reqwest, Hyper)
- Experience with PostgreSQL and time-series databases, TimeScaleDB for analytics
- Experience with Cloud technologies (GCP, Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with Rust testing frameworks, integration testing and Mux sandbox environment
- Knowledge of performance optimization for high-concurrency streaming systems
- Comfort working in agile and distributed teams
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

- Experience in live event systems, creator platforms, or digital ticketing
- Familiarity with DLT/Web3 platforms (e.g., Hedera, Ethereum)
- Knowledge of event-driven architectures (Kafka, NATS, GCP Pub/Sub)
- Experience with video encoding, streaming protocols (HLS, DASH)
- Contributions to open-source Rust projects
- Understanding of content-protection mechanisms and DRM solutions
