About the client
Equippo is a fast-growing, international, tech startup that is revolutionizing the used construction equipment industry. They operate a full-service marketplace and hold live online auctions. Business Insider described them as “The Zalando for excavators”. They recently closed a growth funding round and are ready to expand into a second Product team.
They are looking for a developer with experience in Ruby on Rails to be one of the first members of the new team. You will be working in the Product Department with a supportive and talented group of developers, product managers, and product designers. They expect you to keep up with our agile way of working, to be customer focussed and outcome-oriented. If you love the book “Inspired” by Marty Cagan, you’ll fit right in.
What would you work on? 👷
They are in the middle of strategic talks to split the current scope into 2 teams; one for back-office users and one for public-site users. You can help them shape the future of those teams and to decide where your strengths best fit. Every two weeks they work hard to achieve our sprint goal that focuses on improving the experience of their users.
Some of the objectives you could be working on are:
- Achieving a streamlined company process: improving the integration with AI-driven inspection app, automating ERP processes, creating and maintaining APIs, simplifying our integration with Hubspot, etc.
- Enabling automatic price evaluations for our products: implementing machine learning modules for price adjustments, improving our algorithm, enriching the source of information, optimizing performance, integrating with new tools via APIs, etc.
- Optimizing the conversion of buying flows: enabling easy user authentication, implementing APIs to reduce form-filling time, etc.
- Improving the accuracy of delivery price calculator: creating smarter algorithms, connecting with geolocation services, etc.
What do you bring to the table? 💪
- +4 years of experience with Ruby on Rails
- You have experience with React
- You follow object-oriented design principles, value refactoring, writing clean and readable code
- You have a test-driven mentality
- You are outcome-oriented (not just output) and user-focused
- You are a team player and have been part of a strong product team
- You are fluent in English
Great to have 💫
- Javascript, Typescript, Python
- Experience with PostgreSQL
- Experience in marketplaces
- Experience working in multicultural teams
- Computer science, software engineering, or informatics degree
